Our surf camp in Bidart, located at the heart of the Basque coast, offers a unique experience to discover the region’s waves in a chill, authentic atmosphere.
At JOYU, we welcome surfers to a small surf house 700 meters from the ocean—ideal for sharing a week of surfing, meeting other enthusiasts and enjoying the Basque lifestyle.

JOYU is, above all, an independent surf house created by surf enthusiasts who want to share their love of the ocean and the Basque coast. A typical day at our surf camp
A day at our surf camp often follows the rhythm of the ocean. Mornings begin with breakfast and a coffee while we check the surf conditions: swell, wind and tide. Then, go surf! Choose from surf lessons for beginners or surf guiding for intermediate riders. After the session, there’s time to relax, recover and share a healthy, home-cooked meal. The afternoon often includes a second guided session or time to enjoy the village of Bidart, the beach or the house garden. In the evening, the chill surf house vibe comes alive over a good meal to share the day.
